From initial contact with Alysha to the actual day there was a exciting amount of back and forth email’s to get the entertainment side of things just right. The package that they booked was our package with a Dj setup and photo booth, soon after the real fun began. Which was getting this package just right for their needs.

The Venue that they secured is ” The Stables Of Somersby” situated about an hour north of Sydney. For a farm and rustic style venue they have really hit the nail on the head, with beautiful scenery and wild life all around, creating an amazing backdrop for photos by the farmhouse or by the pond.

The service’s that was booked was our DJ photo booth package, however there were some changes that Alysha and Sam were after. Firstly they wanted an attendant for the photo booth to ensure that the guest book was filled with photo’s and message’s from family and friend’s. Having an attendant is a great way to achieve this, they are there to keep the guests moving through easily and allowing them to have a great time. Attendant’s keep’s the guest book looking sharp so it remains a treasure to look back on.

Secondly they were after an altered photo strip of four photo’s with no message, nice, clean and simple.

Next came the more challenging amendments, how to maximise the photo booth usage. The first idea was to have to booth run through the canapes and cocktail proceedings, this was a great idea but then we both thought by the end of the night the usage may drop off as a lot of guests would have already used it quite a few times. Also there was the idea of how to have it positioned outside but also out of any weather that may pop up.

Options A B & C came up, in the end we decided the booth would get maximum use during the entire length of the Reception and then we could place the booth inside away from any unforeseen weather that may come through.

Becoming a six hour reception with a six hour attended photo booth, and it was an absolute hit.

Some other vendors that were on the included in the magic

The day was an absolute picture postcard, the weather was on point with sun all day and guests were looking sharp ready for a fun night. The Ceremony took place after our beauitiful Bride walked down the timber arch way to her awaiting groom, vowels were spoken, a kiss was shared and guests were celebrating.

From here it was right over to a lovely setting of low tables with throw rug’s and cushion’s sitting under the newly added timber gazebo where the drinks, grazing tables and live music were waiting along with the lawn games, magician and a mobile oyster chucker service.

Placed just right was Tina, A beautiful Caravan bar service pouring two taps all night long. Something about a cold fresh beer served in glass on a warm day 🙂

Once the reception was open it was clear that these two families were ready to party and celebrate as they had just become one. As the guests eagerly awaiting the entry of the bridal party they were not disappointed, September by Earth Wind & Fire brought in the bridal party with their killer dance routines. Crazy in love by Beyonce & Jay Z brought the crowd to their feet as Samuel and Alysha made their entrance and kicked of the evening celebrations.

As the catering team brought out the banquette of food the music set the tone for the rest of the night. There was immense crowd reaction to the music with dancing and singing before the dance floor was open, being the DJ who could I refuse someone the opportunity to have a good time.

As the speeches took place you could tell that there was a lot of love and thought put into each one, speech after speech was received with either a tear or burst of laughter.

Next up was the tail end of the formalities with the cake cutting and the first dance. Our couple put together two songs for their first dance creating a sweet moment followed quickly by the perfect dance floor starter that brought the remaining guests to there feet. I know Alysha & Sam wanted everyone with them for that moment so we worked together and made it happen.

Song after song after song brought people running into the room to find their group to bust a move or sing as loud as they could.

The contact between Alysha and myself was split between the package details and music requirements. She expressed her feelings that music was to be a huge part of the evening so we worked together and created the playlists for the evening.

Talking to a couple about the music is a huge role in my line of work, it’s important that their requested music is loaded and ready to go, it makes the night and the response is electric. Seeing a bride and her parents belting out some home grown love for The Eagles, or a Bride & Groom up on the shoulders singing word for word with each other. These moments tell me that I have delivered the service I was hired to do.

It was great to experience this wedding with Sam & Alysha, they were an absolute pleasure to work with. All the planning and lead up to the big day was a compliment to how much of a success it was, what better way to celebrate with a honey moon for 5 weeks starting in Japan and finishing in Asia.

Seeing their travels on instagram was a really great opportunity to see their personalities outside of the wedding business and I can honestly say that these beautiful people are going to be very happy together with their new chapter as Husband and Wife.

“I don’t even know where to begin with Simon at Simple City Music except we could not recommend him enough!
Simon was the AMAZING DJ (and our photo booth provider) at our wedding and made such an impact on the day that we will never forget. With an email chain that is meters long, Simon was always so accomodating, helpful and easy going. He answered every question, listened to our requests (ALL of them haha!) and was just such a nice guy to work with.
On the night, the music was on point! Keeping the music romantic and more relaxed during dinner to ripping out absolute bangers for the dance-floor that flowed from one song to the other with a great mix of new and old school.
The photo booth was easy to use and again Simon was so easy going with allowing us to choose the format and props we wanted.
Thank you so much Simon, you were such an asset to our day and we really enjoyed having you there!”
